About School of Malayalam Perth

School of Malayalam Perth (SML) was established by passionate members of the Kerala community in Western Australia with a singular vision to ensure that the Malayalam language and the rich cultural heritage of Kerala continue to thrive in the hearts of the next generation growing up in Australia.

We recognised early on that children born and raised in Australia, while fully embracing their Australian identity, also carry within them a beautiful legacy: the language, traditions, arts and values of Kerala. SML was created as the bridge between these two worlds.

Every Saturday, our students gather not just to learn a language, but to connect with their roots, make lifelong friendships within the community, and grow into proud Keralites who are equally at home in Australia and in the culture of their heritage.
